Gandhi Contest

Gandhi Contest attracted widespread attention.  This was done in West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. The contest - examination is in objective type with 100 questions.  The permission from the District Education Officer (DEO) is obtained and Mandal Education Officers of the District who control the Schools are involved in the process.

The Question Papers are given to the Schools through the MEOs and the students are given these papers to home and will be collected on a monday - giving them a day or two to answer the questions.  They can consult books, teachers, parents and other elders to get the answers.  It is observed that each student consults - to answer the 100 questions about 4 or 5 adults.  Thus the reach of this examination is about 5 lakh people.

This requires a methodical and hard work approach.  Sri Allada Ramakrishna, Sri Indukuri Prasada Raju, Gattim Manikyala Rao and their team members have done this great effort.

Sri Jayawant Mathkar ji, President, Sevagram Ashram Pratishtan, Sevagram, Wardha Maharashtra visited and discussed with the team members on how the exam was conducted and the process involved in it.  With necessary modifications similar programs can be undertaken in other Districts and States.
