Prasad in Cape Town, South Africa






Prasad met Uma Dhupelia, Great-grand daughter of Mahatma Gandhi in Cape Town. He also met Mewa Ramgobin President of Phoenix Settlement near Durban which was started by Mahatma Gandhi in 1904. He met Mridul Kumar, Consul General of India in Cape Town.

Prasad's Visit to South Africa






Prasad visited South Africa from 8 to 12 September 2010 and met Ela Gandhi, Grand daughter of Mahatma Gandhi, and other family members. He visited Durban, Pietermaritzburg (Railway Station from where he was evicted from first class rail compartment on 7th June 1893), Phoenix settlement which Mahatma Gandhi started in 1904, Cape Town, Johannesburg where Mahatma Gandhi Statue was installed in Gandhi Square, Pretoria etc.

He participated in the Award function on September 9 in Durban organized by Gandhi Development Trust which honoured Dr. E. S. Reddy, former Assistant Secretary General, UNO and a Gandhi scholar and an expert on South Africa.

Prasad Addresses Students in Stanford University




Prasad addressed Students of Stanford University in California, USA on September 28, 2010 who have taken Gandhi as a subject. They are studying Gandhi's Autobiography as a course material.

Prasad in Stanford University


Prasad visited Stanford University on September 28, 2010 and met Prof. Clayborne Carson with whom he co-taught a course on Gandhi, King and Nonviolence in Stanford University in 2008. Both discussed networking of Gandhian organizations in the US. Prasad gifted a 'Charkha' to Prof. Carson.
