YOUTH AWARENESS CAMP IN CHATTISGARH

Chattisgarh Pradesh Sarvodaya Mandal organized Youth Awareness Camp on 19-20 March 2016 at Vimal Vaidik Ashram, Pairi in Balod District of Chattisgarh.  The Camp was attended by about 100 youth from various districts of Chattisgarh.

The Camp was inaugurated by Dr. Ramji Singh, Trustee, Sarva Seva Sangh and former MP and Vice-Chancellor.  The Camp was addressed by Sri Mahadev Vidrohi, President Sarva Seva Sangh, Sri Sheik Hussain, General Secretary, Sri Vijay Bhai, Secretary and Sri GVVSDS Prasad.  Sri Siyaram Sahoo, President Chattisgarh Pradesh Sarvodaya Mandal organized the Camp with the assistance of the Balod District Sarvodaya Mandal.

Chattisgarh Unit of Sarvodaya Yuva Vahini was launched by Sri Mahadev Vidrohi.  Chattisgarh is the first State to launch SYV after Sarva Seva Sangh took a decision that Sarvodaya Yuva Vahini is the Youth Wing of Sarva Seva Sangh.

Sri Prasad suggested a group of 10 youth from Chattisgarh be sent to Sevagram for further training.

SRI PRASAD VISITS KHAMGAON MAHARASHTRA

Sri Prasad visited Khamgaon in Maharashtra on 17th March.  Tilak Rashtriya Vidyalaya established by Sri Panthe Guruji in the 20's made a great contribution to the freedom struggle and preparing Sarvodaya Karyakarthas.  Sri Prasad was the Chief Guest during the Panthe Guruji's Smrithi Diwas function in 2015.

Sri Prasad met Sri Rajesh Rajore, Resident Editor of 'Deshonnathi' a daily newspaper published from Khamgaon.   Both agreed to develop cooperation to take the message of Mahatma Gandhi to the Youth.  Sri Shankar Bagade and Sri Ramdas participated in the meeting.





COTTON TO CLOTH - PRAHLAD NEMADE

Prahlad Nemade had been working on decentralized Khadi for a long time.  His experiments are on processing cotton produced in the village there itself, spin and produce yarn and weave cloth.  In processing cotton there are stages - removing seeds, refining cotton and making it into a 'tape' then make it into 'puni' which can be mounted on Amber Charkha for taking the yarn.  Sri Nemade developed several machines for undertaking these processes.  He also demonstrated his unit in Delhi during the Kargha Yagna organized by Gandhi Smrithi and Darsan Samithi.

WORKSHOP FOR FARMERS AT CHALTANE

Mahatma Gandhi Lok Seva Samithi organized a Workshop on Farming at its campus in Chaltane at the foothills of Satpura range on 16 March 2016.  It was attended by about 150 farmers and adivasis from the region.  Sri Manjit Singh is undertaking the development of the area and organized the Workshop.  Several Agricultural Scientists have participated and provided inputs in the workshop.

The Samithi has 70 acres of land in the area and undertakes a number of activities like goshala, education, health, children and other programmes.






SRI PRASAD VISITS NANDURA

Sri Prasad visited Nandura on 15-16 March and met Sri Velurkar Guruji who is Chairman of Vidarbha Bhoodan Yagna Mandal and carrying forward the message and work of Rashtra Sant Sri Tukdoji Maharaj.  Guruji organizes several Youth Camps for giving 'sanskar'  an orientation on self and society.  He is highly respected in the area and has his influence on the moral living of people.

INCOME GENERATION PROGRAMME FOR YOUTH IN SEVAGRAM ASHRAM

A Gramodyog Unit was started by Sri Chakradhar and his team to strengthen Youth Movement by providing them livelihoods.  In a space provided by Sevagram Ashram Pratishtan, the team started producing Tooth Powder, Incence Sticks, Phinile and other articles.  About 15 persons are provided employment at present and plans for more Youth are being made.
