YOUTH CAMP ORGANIZED IN SEVAGRAM


A National Youth Camp was organized in Sevagram from 24 to 28 December by Sarva Seva Sangh, Sevagram Ashram Pratishtan and Mumbai Sarvodaya Mandal.  The Camp was attended by about 70 participants from Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States.  The Camp was inaugurated by Dr. Ulhas Jaju who exhorted the youth to adopt Gandhian values for better society.  He emphasised the need for Swadeshi, Khadi in daily lives.  We should live simply and Happily he said.  The Inaugural Function was Presided over by Shri Mahadev Vidrohi President of Sarva Seva Sangh

 The Camp coordination was done by Prashant Gujar and Bajrang bhai.  The object of the Camp was to introduce Gandhian ideology to the Youth.  The components of the Camp consisted of Prayer, Yoga, Pranayama, Shramadan, sports and games, cultural programmes in addition to classes and discussions.

The inaugural was attended by Shri Jayawant Mathkar, President of Sevagram Ashram, Sriram Jhadav, Secretary of the Ashram, Smt. Shobha Shiradonkar, Secretary of Sarva Seva Sangh.

SMT USHA GOKANI ADDRESSES A MEETING IN VIJAYAWADA

Smt. Usha Gokani, Grand daughter of Mahatma Gandhi during her visit to Krishna District Andhra Pradesh addressed a meeting organized by Vasavya Mahila Mandali.  The Meeting was presided over by Smt. Chennupati Vidya, President of VMM and former Member of Parliament and a Social Worker.  Vasavya Children presented a Welcome Dance with Patriotic content.  Dr. G. Vijayam, Director, Atheist Centre conducted the Meeting.  Smt. Rashmi, Secretary VMM received and welcomed Smt. Usha Gokani.  Dr. Maru, Sri Niyantha, Advocate N. Srihari participated in the meeting.  Smt. Krishna Kumari, Station Director All India Radio was a Guest of Honour and Smt. Sujatha Varma, from the Hindu participated.

The Interactive Meeting was on the topic, RELEVANCE OF GANDHI FOR PRESENT DAY.  The Meeting was addressed by Sri Prasad who said that the relevance of Gandhi is more today than during his time.  The question would be if we are relevant to Gandhian Way rather than Gandhi being relevant today Sri Prasad said.

SMT USHA GOKANI VISITS HYDERABAD


Smt. Usha Gokani, Grand-daughter of Mahatma Gandhi visited Hyderabad on 17 December 2015.  A Get-together was organized with about 60 persons.  Those who met Usha ji include Dr. T. Purushottam Rao, former Minister, Sri LV Subrahmanyam IAS, Sri Gandhi IPS, Sri Ravi Prakash, TV 9, Sri Jayaram former President of TANA and others.






Sri Zahid Ali Khan, Gandhi King Foundation and Editor, Siasat daily hosted a Dinner for Smt. Usha Gokani at his residence.  This was attended by 'Padmasri' Dr. AS Narayana, Dr. Sudhir Naik, Cardiologist, Sri JSS Prasad Chartered Accountant, Sri Satish from Digital Campus Sri Gopalakrishna and others.







Smt. Usha Gokani visited Malaxmi Group Office.  She was received by Dr. Daggubati Venkateswara Rao, MLA and former Minister and Sri Y. Harishchandra Prasad.
