APPA - ANNA MITRA MILAN PUNE 10-11 MARCH 2016

Mahatma Gandhi's disciples, Appa Patwardhan, known as Konkan Gandhi who set up an Ashram in Gopuri, Ratnagiri District of Maharashtra and Annasaheb Sahasrabuddhe who undertook Gandhian Constructive work on Gram Swaraj in Koraput in Odisha inspired many Gandhians in the country. Appasaheb Patwardhan devoted his entire life for sanitation and developing rural energy through bio-gas.  Mahatma Gandhi had chosen him to the task of village sanitation which is one of the 18-point Constructive Programme. In their memory, every year Appa-Anna Mitra Milan is organized in which their followers meet and exchange their ideas and experiences.

During the Appa-Anna Mitra Milan held at Pune on 10-11 March 2016 awards were given to Sri Mahavir Tyagi and Dr. Shivcharan Thakur for their life-long work.  This function was attended by Sri GVVSDS Prasad and he addressed the meeting of the Maharashtra Pradesh Sarvodaya Mandal.
