Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Jubilee Hills Gandhi Club

On June 20 Gandhi Club of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Public School, Jubilee Hills organized two programmes to bring Gandhian values to their students.  One was to their General Assembly and the other to the Gandhi Club students.  The general assembly had about 1000 students and in the Gandhi Club there were 200 students.  Students listened with rapt attention and had good interaction with Sri Prasad.  Khadi and Swadeshi products were displayed and sold on the occasion.











Teachers of West Godavari Distirct introduced to Gandhian Thought

The District Collector of West Godavari District took keen interest in providing educational functionaries a glimpse of Gandhian thought so that the teachers and through them students can take to the path of Truth and nonviolence preached by Mahatma Gandhi.  The DEO, Sri Narasimha Rao organized a series of meetings in which Sri Prasad addressed teachers in batches.  These programmes were organized in Eluru, Nallajerla, Narayanapur and Bhimavaram.

Youth Meeting in Sindhanur, Karnataka

10 students of Duddupudi Women's College, Sindhanur in Raichur District Karnataka participated in Sarvodaya Youth Camp held in Sevagram 1-5 March 2012 under the leadership of DRK Murthy who founded the College.  On the invitation of him and other participants, Sri Prasad and Dr. Kranthi visited Sindhanur and addressed about 600 students on Gandhian philosophy and work on 31 March 2012..

Prasad meets Justice Venkatachalaiah EP Menon in Bangalore

Sri Prasad met Justice Venkatachalaiah former Chief Justice of India, Dr. Gopal Kamal, IRS Commissioner of Income Tax Delhi and EP Menon in Bangalore and held discussions on Sarvodaya movement and programmes.  Justice Venkatachalaiah emphasised on the need for Gandhian values in society and to inculcate them in young minds.  Sri Prasad had meetings with Karnataka Sarvodaya Mandali in Vallabh Niketan and met Sarvodaya Karyakarthas including HS Suresh who was Coordinator of NSS.

Maharashtra Sarvodaya Mandal Conference Pandharpur

Sri Prasad visited Pandharpur in Maharashtra on June 12 to participate in the Maharashtra Sarvodaya Sammelan.  He addressed the Sammelan which was attended by about 300 persons from all over Maharashtra.  This Sammelan was organized by Abha Kamble, President, Dr. Sugan Baranth, Jayawant Matkar and others.

Sri Prasad spoke on the philosophical outlines of Sarvodaya.  He emphasised on the need for working for Sarvodaya Social Order - a Society based on the foundations of Truth and Non-violence - a non exploitative social order.






Prasad addresses Students of Dhruva College of Management

Sri Prasad Addressed Students of Dhruva College of Management in Hyderabad on Gandhi and Management.  He said, Gandhi is an excellent example of Management who excelled in every function of Management.  He recruited people of eminence into the Movement, Constructive Programme who stayed with him for life.  People like Rajendra Prasad, Zakir Hussain who became Presidents of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, the Prime Minister of India and other leaders like Abul Kalam Azad, J.B. Kripalani, Vinoba Bhave, Jayaprakash Narayan etc.  He had a profound intuition in getting subject matter for his movements, use of symbols etc.  He used Salt, Charkha that would reach the millions.  He was a great communicator.

Talk on Khadi is not just a Cloth but a Thought

A talk on "Khadi is not just a Cloth but a Thought" was organized by NAPM Andhra Pradesh.  Vimal Bhai from Uttarakhand gave an inspiring talk.  Saraswati Kavula conducted the proceedings and Ramakrishna Raju from NAPM graced the occasion.

Sri Prasad interacted with the participants and said that Khadi is not just a cloth but is 'My Identity'.  It is an expression of our life's philosophy and what we stand for.  Mahatma Gandhi, during freedom struggle placed before the Nation Khadi as an important component of Constructive Programme.  Khadi provides employment for millions of people.  It is a symbol of Self Respect, Self Reliance, Gram Swaraj, Body Labour, identifying with poor, environment and good health.

A display of Khadi products was organized by Wavilal Khadi and by Sri G. Sampath Rao.







Agricultural Scientist visits Burujugadda

Dr. Sai Kumar, Director of Maize Research, New Delhi visited Burujugadda Village in Rangareddy District and interacted with Farmers.  Dr. Sai Kumar developed several varieties of Maize over thirty years which are high yielding and with better nutritive content.  The Farmers in Burujugadda will be provided with improved seeds, training in good agricultural practices to improve productivity.
